🇬🇧 Responsible, Regenerative, and Locally Rooted Tourism
At George of the Cloud Forest, we don’t see sustainability as a standard. We go further.
We believe tourism must regenerate — not just preserve, but improve what it touches.
Our commitment is not just ethical. It’s practical, daily, and measurable.
Each of our experiences is designed to:
- Protect the cloud forest ecosystem, reducing impact and honoring natural rhythms
- Strengthen the local circular economy by working with cooks, farmers, and small businesses in Monteverde
- Create genuine connections with the community through cultural exchange, respect, and collaboration
- Educate with purpose, inspiring each traveler to leave not only with memories… but with a new way of seeing the world
What does regenerative tourism mean to us?
That every step in the forest feeds the soil, not wears it down
That every meal served also nourishes local families
That every story shared strengthens cultural identity
That every traveler becomes part of the solution — not the problem
What we do in practice
- Active partnerships with agroecological farms, traditional kitchens, and local entrepreneurs
- Use of biodegradable products and waste minimization
- Guided walks only on authorized trails to protect sensitive ecosystems
- Carbon offset and environmental education embedded in every tour
- Ongoing training for our team in conservation, culture, and regenerative hospitality
- Small groups to ensure low-impact, intimate experiences
