Local Guides, Living Roots and Regenerative Tourism in Monteverde
At George of the Cloud Forest, we don’t just guide cloud forest tours.
We live what we share.
We are a team of local guides deeply rooted in Monteverde — in its biodiversity, culture, stories and people. Every experience we offer is born from our love for this land and our belief that tourism can be a tool for regeneration — ecological, cultural and human.
Our connection to nature began in childhood. Jorge Jr., before he could even read, walked around with a bird book under his arm and a magnifying glass in his backpack. We grew up in the forest, surrounded by mist, moss and mountain trails. This isn’t a job for us — it’s our way of life.
From that deep-rooted bond, we design regenerative experiences.
We don’t offer conventional tours — we facilitate conscious and purposeful encounters.
Walking with us means embracing a new way of traveling:
✅ One that restores ecosystems, instead of consuming them.
✅ One that uplifts local communities, instead of bypassing them.
✅ One that transforms both the traveler and the territory.
We operate with active insurance and full coverage, because we take safety as seriously as we take conservation.
Our team is highly trained and continuously improving, blending technical knowledge with emotional and ecological intelligence.
We work through real local partnerships — with women who cook ancestral recipes, sustainable farms, artists, producers and drivers.
We keep our groups small, to ensure intimacy, respect and personal connection.
And each experience is designed with a clear intention: to minimize environmental impact on the cloud forest and its species.
What does regenerative tourism mean to us?
It means planting value where you walk.
It means restoring relationships where they’ve been lost.
It means leaving every place and person better than we found them.
At George of the Cloud Forest, we don’t do mass tourism.
We create travel with soul — the kind that educates, connects, inspires… and regenerates.
